Halloween

Non non, vous ne rêvez pas ! Il y a bel et bien un groupe qui s'appelle Halloween et qui a aussi une citrouille dans le logo !

Halloween est un groupe US de Heavy Metal traditionnel créé au début des années 80 (légèrement avant Helloween) et encore en activité aujourd'hui. Ils sont originaires de Detroit et ont déjà joué avec Zakk Wilde.
Le groupe n'est visiblement connu qu'aux USA.

Le fait qu'Halloween s'est créé à peu près en même temps qu'Helloween avec pratiquement le même nom et logo, celà a entrainé quelques petites frictions (c'était toutefois avant qu'Helloween ne redéfinisse le Speed 8) )

R :We have had a run in with Helloween back in the beginning but not lately. Back when they were on RCA in the USA their lawyers made some kind of deal with our manager, at the time, but they didn't honour it anyway. They had agreed to stop using the pumpkin in their logo and did for only one or two albums in the U.S., but then they started using it again, I guess they figured we wouldn't do any thing about it. We met them in Detroit when they were on tour with Anthrax and they were afraid to meet us, fearing we were going to kill them or something (they had heard of Detroit's reputation for being the murder capitol of the world). I guess they didn't know what to expect haha. But it was all cool in the end. I like their band I just wish they had a different name. It would've made life easier for us throughout the years. After all we were around before them and they already know that. (Just ask them)…

We got a lot of risistance from American record labels because of the similarity in the name HA(E)LLOWEEN. HELLOWEEN from Germany and us (HALLOWEEN) are both aware of eachother. We drew up contracts between us that we're both OK with eachothers names and that we would help to dispel any confusion amongst booking agents, but even with those factors, the American record labels just were stubborn about it. They wouldn't sign us unless we would change our name. We have too much involved and at stake in the name to do that. We built up a solid reputation, a large fan base and we now have three albums out. We never give up the name HALLOWEEN. Even if this means, we may never become nationally famous to keep our integrity and ideals intact, well, so be it. We'll see what happens in the future.
